Sami Amphitheater at ZooMiami
Built to accommodate over 800 visitors, the Sami Amphitheater at ZooMiami is home to wildlife and conservation educational programming as well has concerts and special events.
The feature exhibit building was designed to resemble an overgrown ruin. The structure is standard CMU block, but Studio M Miami used cutting edge BIM technology to create a steel wireframe skin over the building structure which was covered in specialized, sprayed concrete. The wireframe was designed to integrate planters, planting beds, irrigation, and a waterfall with lazy river. After the concrete was poured, artists meticulously carved the rock and stone-look formations, including relief sculptures of a variety of animals hidden throughout the facade.
